Dr Michelle Obertacz, ND, is a licensed, board-certified Naturopathic Doctor with additional training in Traditional Chinese Medicine and Acupuncture. She was born and raised in Northern Ohio, and is thrilled to practice medicine in Vashon as a part of the skilled team at Vashon Natural Medicine. Dr Michelle is a graduate of Bastyr University in Seattle, Washington, the world’s leading university in the natural health sciences, and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from The Ohio State University.
Dr Michelle is trained in primary preventative care, and is an expert in the prevention and natural treatment of disease. She believes that each person is unique, and so each treatment is customized to meet their individual needs. Dr Michelle has undergone extensive training in women’s health, pediatrics, and urology. She works closely with local midwives and has devoted time to working in her community as a lactation consultant and post partum doula.
Dr Michelle enjoys lecturing and writing about natural and complementary medicine. She believes that health education is a vital part of being a doctor, and enjoys sharing her knowledge with health care professionals and the public. In her practice as a family physician, she utilizes botanical medicine, homeopathy, diet and nutrient therapy to restore and optimize health.
Dr Michelle currently resides in Seattle
with her partner Mickey, a local artist, and their two boys Ethan and
Oliver. When she is not
researching and coordinating care for her patients, she is devoting time to her
family. She enjoys hiking and
climbing in the abundant natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest, laughing with
friends, and taking an occasional afternoon nap.
